These matches are designed to elevate the everyday: lighting candles, setting the mood, or simply sitting pretty on your mantlepiece. As well as being beautiful on the outside they look pretty good inside too. Slide down the cover and open the inner tray to find 125 extra long match sticks (13cm!). As well as being extra long our matches have also been made thicker than others on the market to help guard again breakages, making them even safer to use. Beautifully crafted designs, premium materials, and a touch of wit, they make perfect gifts (for others or yourself) and prove that even the simplest things can feel special.
Diana Catchpole is an illustrator and printmaker based in the countryside of South Cambridgeshire. Diana’s most recent work which you find on her collaboration with The Matchbox Maker are inspired by her surroundings, the countryside and the wonderful animals that inhabit it. There is a narrative behind every print that Diana creates. She likes to bring a sense of wonder and gentle humour to her work with a leaning towards the Fantastical.

- The boxes are made from recycled board and are completely biodegradable.
- The match sticks are made from responsibly sourced wood from fast growing poplar trees. Short rotation forestry (SRF) uses the coppicing method, which involves cutting the tree back to its base to promote new growth for repeated harvests. This an eco-friendly cycle which ensures the ongoing habitat these trees provide along with their part in the ecosystem is retained.

Please be aware that these products, whilst aligning with industry and international standards, are classed as dangerous goods and should be treated as such in relation to their shipment, movement, storage & use. Whilst the Matchbox Maker Ltd commits to taking every reasonable effort to ensure they are safe to use, the match sticks are made from a natural product which may contain internal structural flaws which are not noticeable by eye. Whilst they take care in their quality control they cannot reasonably check every one so please follow the instructions for use carefully:
- Strike gently, away from the body, over a fire proof surface.
- Do not smoke.
- Store in a cool dry place away from direct heat and or flame.
- Never leave a naked flame unattended.
- After you have struck the match and used it as planned ensure the match is fully extinguished (we recommend running it under cold water prior to disposal).
- Never return a previously lit match to the pack.
- Keep away and out of reach of children at all times
- For use by persons over 18 years of age.
